Sound artist and electronic musician based in Hudson Valley, NY.
Monte Weber crafts ambient soundscapes through modular synthesis and
computer-assisted composition, conjuring delicate sonic ecosystems
that blur the boundaries between the organic and the electronic.
Afterglow has no beginning and no end.
A modal system drifts between G Mixolydian and D Dorian — notes chosen through
voice-leading logic, each tone aware of what came before. Chords bloom slowly
from the pitches already heard, summoned from memory. Pink noise swells shift
the color field as they rise and fall.
Every sound leaves a mark. Pitch determines height, velocity determines weight.
The canvas feeds back into itself — zooming, rotating, pulling light inward
like liquid on glass. Nothing repeats exactly.
